Becoming a teenage mother resulted to an unplanned pregnancy. Teenage pregnancy is defined as a teenage girl, usually between the ages of thirteen through nineteen, becoming pregnant. Sex education is a general term used to describe education about human sexual anatomy, sexual reproduction, sexual intercourse, and other qualities of human sexual behavior. Teenagers who are uneducated about sex are more likely to have an unplanned pregnancy. Some teenagers don’t fully understand the biological and emotional view associated with having sex. These teens may get false information and many times, don’t have the knowledge needed to make informed and responsible decisions about whether or not to engage in sexual activity that can change their life. Teenage pregnancy is closely connected to other critical social issues. For example, poverty and income, out-of-wedlock births, responsible fatherhood, health issues, education, child welfare, and other risky behavior. In other words, the state of being extremely poor and money received, having a baby before marriage, father being involved in the child’s life, lack of prenatal care, dropout rates, and public and private agencies that provide social services to children and their families. There is also a considerable amount that connects with young childbearing. Childbearing means the process of giving birth to children. If more children were born to parents who are ready and able to care of them, then we would see a significant reduction of social problems defeating children in the United States. Poor and or inadequate sex education in public schools may lead to unplanned pregnancies.
